NIA AIMS HIGH WITH AI

September 2, 2025, 4:42 PM

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) supports the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) in celebrating Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) this September 2025.

This year’s theme, “Reimagining Governance in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” reflects the government’s efforts to utilize AI for policy research and the development of strategic national plans.

In line with this vision, NIA continues to explore the responsible use of AI technologies to provide efficient, reliable, and sustainable irrigation services to the Filipino farmers. Among these innovations is AgroScout, an AI-powered app for precision agriculture that helps detect crop diseases, improve yields, reduce pesticide use, and increase farmers' income.
