NIA RECEIVES “EXCELLENT” RATING ON CORPORATE GOVERNANCE SCORECARD

November 6, 2025, 5:44 PM

NIA Central Office – Under the leadership of Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) has received an “Excellent” rating on the Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS) based on the assessment of the Governance Commission for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GCG) for Calendar Year (CY) 2024.

For the first time since 2015, NIA earned this notable recognition. With a numerical rating of 89.58% (Excellent) in 2024, a 13.87% increase was recorded from 75.71% (Above Average) CGS rating in 2023. This serves as a testament to the Agency’s commitment towards a more transparent and more accountable public service.

CGS is a tool devised by GCG to measure the performance of all GOCCs based on Stakeholder Relationships (15%), Disclosure and Transparency (35%), and Responsibilities of the Board (50%). It is different from the Performance Scorecard which is a tool that measures the performance of GOCCs based on unique criteria and parameters.

Indeed, this recognition reaffirms NIA’s dedication to good governance and excellence in serving the Filipino farmers and the nation.
