National Irrigation Master Plan

Securing More Efficient Public Service Through NIMP 2020-2030

The National Irrigation Master Plan (NIMP) 2020-2030 is a national level master plan which aims to provide national guidelines for irrigation development in the country. Consistent with the Philippine Development Plan (PIDP) 2017-2022, NIMP 2020-2030 is an updated and enhanced version of the old master plan (2017-2026). It was crafted by the University of the Philippines - Los Baños, commissioned by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

NIMP aims to develop a new geodatabase system and generated updated spatial figure, to formulate performance targets and indicators consistent with PDP Results Matrix, to formulate physical targets for irrigation development in consideration to DA Rice Roadmap and Rice Tarification Act, to develop medium to long-term investment programs on irrigation projects, to provide guidelines on the development of maintenance enhancement and operation plan of irrigation systems, to integrate emerging water-efficient technologies and Climate Change Adaption/Disaster Risk Reduction Management in irrigation development, to realign irrigation development to support diversified agricultureal production systems, to formulate institutional reforms for an efficient and successful new Master Plan.

All of these are geared towards a more responsive and more efficient public service for the farmers, for the Filipino people, and for the nation.
